Trip Leaders: Jacquie & Craig Colhoun

I had been so looking forward to the Eat Street social evening, I had heard so much about Eat Street but I had never been there EVER!!

Ian and I had no idea as to how to get to Eat Street, so we ended up following Craig and Jacquie in. We arrived early which secured ourselves a car park, and headed for the entry and secured a couple of tables at the main stage.

When we arrived there wasn’t that may people but as time approached 5pm it was packed and the entertainment was pumping from The Fergies. The aroma of food was in the air the only problem was where was that yummy smell coming from?  I lapped Eat Street a few times trying to decide on what to eat, there were so many choices. Jacquie and I found this Greek place that did haloumi chips wow they were so yum! With so much food on offer it was hard to decide. With dinner almost done, we had a storm and unfortunately despite we were originally protected under the main stage the wind had other intensions and we ended up getting a little wet, but the storm passed quickly and we were back sitting and enjoying everyone’s company.

Next round desert, WOW I’ve never seen such decadent deserts, amazing. There was ice cream / sorbet in a pineapple or watermelon, Nutella donut chocolate fountain, just so many to name. We all sat around for a bit and enjoyed watching a dance group, they did some crazy jumps and flips, was great to watch. After the entertainment was done we all slowly parted our ways and headed off into the night. It was a great night had by all.
