Hi there fellow club members.

Bookings are now live with people arriving from Thursday the 17th of April and demobilising on Easter Monday the 21st.

A  5-6 hr drive awaits (from the SE QLD area to our campground) but its an extremely scenic one as you head South into the New England's Tableland areas.

We will enjoy off grid camping at 'Native Dog Camp Grounds' which is located just outside of Ebor in the Cathedral Rocks National Park.

The focus of the clubs day drives will be sanctioned fire trail / management roads in a wide area which includes Styx River State Forest. A number of National Parks will also be explored such as  Oxley Rivers, Cunnawarra, Cathedral Rock, New England, Thungutti and Serpentine to name a few.

There will be a number of tricky ascents, beautiful rain forests, fantastic water crossings, look outs and stunning views of this famous gorge region with its many waterfalls including Ebor and Woolomombi.

You can stay for as long as you wish, but the majority will head home on the Monday.

Camping / booking logistics:

  1. No dogs allowed - Confirmed by Peter Berney (Team Leader, Rangers - National Parks and Wildlife) dogs are to be left at home. No dogs under any circumstance's are permitted in any National Parks and are not permitted to travel or be left in attendees vehicles (supervised or unsupervised) at any point.
  2. Trip attendance capacity - The event has received recent interest from a local Armidale 4WD group who wish to attend a day drive only. This being the case, we have raised the trip attendance numbers to 12 which will see a mix of campers / day trip attendees. Be advised that if interest to the weekend potentially exceeds the current 12 vehicle limit, the convoy will be reassessed with the possible increase in numbers managed accordingly.
  3. Number of campsites at Native Dog Camp ground (6) - Campsites are numbered 1 to 6
  4. Accomadation overspill - If Native Dog Campground is booked out by trip attendees and you wish to still come down and stay / drive over the weekend, there are an abundance of camping sites, chalets / cabins in the local Ebor area. Please contact these providers directly.
  5. Each camp sites capacity at Native Dog - 6x people are allowed per campsite with 1x vehicle only per campsite
  6. Camping type - Tent, Camper trailer site, Camping beside my vehicle
  7. Facilities Picnic tables, BBQ facilities, carpark, toilets.
  8. Hot showers - There will be a 'double shower tent' set up in a grassed area with pressurised pump capabilities so people can enjoy a hot shower. Environmentally friendly 'Bar Soap' is suggested as a substitue to normal soap. Camp attendees must bring their own water for showers.
  9. Fire Wood - The event has contacted Ranger Marcus from the Glen Innes office who runs the Native Dog  Campground & they are well aware that we have booked over the weekend and will ensure that milled hardwood offcuts are in plentiful supply during our stay. There is to be no chainsawing of any kind in the National Park areas but we are welcome to have additional wood delivered from local suppliers. If we go down this path, a proportionate $ donation from the attending campsites will be required.
  10. Water - Bring your own non potable water for cooking as well as drinking & shower water.
  11. Costs - $12 per night PP Thurs, Fri, Sat, Sun = $49.20. These rates are the online Nat. Park rates.
  12. Bookings at Native Dog Campgrounds - As of January 22, the event has secured all 6x sites which is the maximum capacity of the campground with 3x spots now remaining (as of January 24). The bookings span from Thursday the 17th to Monday the 21st which covers full trip attendance. It is first in, best dressed so hurry and secure your site. Contact Scott Williams directly regarding payment. If you wish to camp but the pre-booked time frame differs to your schedule, this is fine. Adjustments can be made ?
