Trip Itinerary:
Monday 18th April, pack up and depart Water Park Creek, Byfield National Park 10am and head to the Capricorn Caves https://capricorncaves.com.au/
We will be staying 1 night at the caves, accommodation can be booked via the capricorn caves website and they offer cabins, non powered and powered camping sites. Those who wish to do so can book to attend one of the cave tours in the afternoon they offer 3 caving expriences Cathedral Cave Tour $33 per adult, Capricorn Explorer $61 per adult and Capricorn Adventurer $75per adult
Tuesday 19th April, pack up and head back into Rockhampton bound for Emerald. We will be staying at the Lake Maraboon Holiday Village for 2 nights https://lmhv.com.au/ they offer lake view powered campsites for $48 per night or unpowered sites for $40 per night. Bring an red claw trap and we can try our luck at catching a feed from the dam directly in front of our campsite.
Wednesday 20th April we will head into Sapphire and Emerald for the day and will visit a few places in search of exploring the region and hopefully learning about fossicking at Armfest https://armfest-pty-ltd.business.site/ entry is free
Thursday 21st April we will head to Kroombit Tops National Park, we will be camping at the Griffiths Creek camping area for 2 nights as we explore both the Krombit Tops National Park 4WDing the bomber crash site drive and the razorback track drive
Saturday 23rd April we will continue heading south enjoying Cania Gorge along our way to Kilkivan Bush Camping and Caravan Park for the connecting Anzac Day long weekend trip being run by David and Julie Flemming.
Important things to bring - All minimum club equipment requirements, red claw traps, fishing rod, toilet and shower, firewood, spare fuel, water, food and all your normal camping stuff along with a good sense of adventure.
