Trip Description:-
Situated on the Scenic Rim, the southern section of the Main Range National Park. Commencing in Boonah we will head south, and pass the Dungandan hotel towards Coohcin, and turn right onto Carneys Creek Rd.
The drive will take in superb views of picturesque valleys and giant mountains. En route, we will pass the highest peak in southern Queensland, 1381-meter Mt Superbus, and stop at Taylors lookout and nearby is Treviot Falls. We continue along Spring Creek rd to Moss Gardens Lookout, Carr’s Lookout, and finally reach the delightful Queen Mary Falls (Lunch). This is where the waters of Spring Creek plunge 40 meters into the Condamine River.
After lunch, we pass by Dagg’s Falls on our way to the Condamine Gorge where rugged cliffs tower above you, and follow and commence our many crossings of the Condamine River, 13 times to reach the Head. After the Head, we take a short Detour through the border gates into NSW and then back to QLD and follow Burnett ck rd to picturesque Lake Maroon our finish point. To return home there are two options via Rathdowney and Mt Lindsay Highway or back through Boonah.
